Juicebar is an emergency mobile phone charger with a difference. The product uses NASA technology in its battery so it can contain its charge for years and years. It comes with a 5 year guarantee, meaning you can chuck one in the glovebox of your car and forget all about it until an emergency arises. The products are really slim and very light to carry (unlike some competitors products). There are 8 different connectors to choose from which include a Mini USB which should fit lots of PDA's and Blackberrys etc. Have a look at the range - we think they're fab at £2.99 each.

New Epson Printers

Further information regarding the new range of Epson printers. Of the 3 new all in ones, in my last post I mentioned that the SX100 and SX105 printers use the new Epson cartridges (T0891-894) and not a cartridge that is already available. Not quite the case. The 2 printers do 'come with' these new cartridges, but all the new models will also use the older T0711,712,713 and 714 cartridges as an option. Not too sure yet if the compatibles will work on the new Epson models - if past history is anything to go by probably not. I'll keep you posted. The new cartridges are apparently a 'smaller'!!! version which is designed as a low cost option. The volume of the individual colour cartridges is ....wait for it...3ml each!!!! It seems that all manufacturers are going down this route these days. Better to keep your older machine running than swap for a newer, 'improved' model it seems.

New Epson Printer Range

Epson have released a new range of multifunction printers under the prefix ‘SX’.
There are the following options:
SX100
SX105
SX200
SX205
SX400
SX405

Looking at the specifications there doesn’t seem to be too much difference between the 00 and 05 models so dont worry too much about which you get.
The 200 and 400 series printers use the T0711, T0712, T0713, T0714 cartridges which have been availabel for a couple of years and of which we now have a very reliable compatible range (Ink-Rite Eco-Savers).

The SX100 and SX105 printers however use a totally new set of cartridges:

Black cartridge is T0891
Cyan T0892
Magenta T0893
Yellow T0894

These are as yet only available as a genuine cartridge (no compatibles yet). I had a call yesterday from a regular customer. He was shopping in a well known electrical high street store (rhymes with "Ruby Murrey's") and was looking for a new printer in their sale. I have always made it known that we offer free advice on printers and consumables whether you purchase a printer from us or anywhere else. Our advice is always look at cost of ownership over the next couple of years you are likely to have your new printer -not just the purchase price. Its a minefield these days and the only way you can tell if a printer is going to be okay is if you know about its running costs - thats where we come in. Anyway my customer was browsing the store while on the phone to me asking what certain models were like for cartridges and I quite happily gave him my 'expert opinion' on the printers he was looking at. It became apparent that he wasnt alone while talking to me and I soon realised that the other voice chipping into the conversation was actually the poor salesman from the store doing his best to be accomodating to his customer while this guy on the other end of the phone was doing the same (me). Anyway we settled on an Epson multifunction that was reduced in the sale and would do the job as long as he purchased a certain brand of compatibles for it (see last post). It was then that the salesman swooped in for the kill with the comment "Have you got a cable for it"? He then proceeded to offer my customer a USB cable for "Just another £12.95" and would he like some ink too. Now I know its something very annoying to buy a new product and get home to realise it wont work without buying something else as well but £12.95! You can tell where the store makes its profit. I told him to refuse the offer of a cable (I supplied him one for £2.00) and just get the printer and go. Its a shame the guys you rely upon to give you advice can rip you off so easily, makes you wonder how often you get duped in other areas of life too, extended warranties etc that you feel compelled to purchase in case you kick yourself in the future when the washing machine kicks the bucket.
Image Tek are proud to offer a 100% Honesty Guarantee to our customers - we might not make lots of extra money and work for free but hopefully its pays off in the long run with customers trusting our advice.

T0711 cartridges from Inkrite

Tuesday July 15th 2008I have introduced a filter on the Epson compatible page today. This enables our customers to select either 'Jet Tec' or 'Eco-Saver' as a filtering option when looking for their particular preferred cartridges. We notice that some customers printers are working better with Jet Tec than with our Computer Ink cartridges and vice-versa. So far to date we have had no faulty returns on the Ecosaver T07 cartridge range - an excellent result, well done Inkrite! Its been a nightmare year for the new ranges of Epson compatibles. Epson have managed to get their printers to work happily with their own cartridges but no so well with anyone else's (cant blame them though). We have had to follow the research of our compatible manufacturers and replace stock 3 times with improved versions of the same brand of compatible - a headache I can assure you. Anyway, it seems to have settled now and the Ecosavers seem the best value option to date with their 2.7 times output giving cheap running costs as well as reliability. Probably just got this sorted as Epson decide to release their new printers with different cartridges......

Welcome To Inksupplies

Welcome to our blog as edited by Jonathan Baxter, MD of Image Tek printer supplies.
